Puzzles at BGC

Puzzles Board Game Lounge

Another weekend done, pretty happy with how this went. Got some major chores done, some game time, and got to hang out with the usual suspects. This log would be just my thoughts on my first visit at Puzzles BGL at BGC.

My 2012 Catch up

HAPPY 2013!!
Its been practically half a year since my last blog post. I've been sooo lazy, I didn't even have the time   to post my Christmas Wish List. Anyhow, throughout the last months of the year big happenings uhm... happened. I really have to learn to write better.  Pfft.. just head on to the break for more ramblings.

P.S. Got that coin bank started around October 2011 and got it filled up by end of October 2012. Coin count is 345, all P10 coins.

Toycon 2012 (a somewhat late post)

So, it was Philippine Toycon again. This time around, I was pretty excited. For some odd reason, I knew I'd be getting some good stuff out of the event. Obviously I was looking forward to some nice toys and collectibles but it was sure nice to see my toy collecting friends.

Nintendo Direct Pre E3 2012

Pretty excited for this, I've been pretty much a Nintendo fan since my Famicom. Now this makes me think a bit about the Nintendo Wii, I never had one. Hmm, I wonder if Wii U will be fully backward compatible.

100 Yen: The Japanese Arcade Experience

100 Yen The Japanese Arcade Experience
So looking forward to this. Two of my favorite things combined, the Japanese culture and video games. I'm pretty sure I posted something here about me learning Japanese (but had to put it aside for the time being).

More ramblings and trailer on the jump

RetrowareTV

Stumbled upon this a month or two back, I do love how some of my sites do cross-promotions which led me to this place. Anyways, RetrowareTV is a nice site with a collection of shows that (as you would notice on the logo) does reviews, articles and videos on Videogame related stuff.

Click more for some of my thoughts on the site and some of the shows.

Focus, focus, focus...

Must play them all!!
Multitasking is a nice skill and all but its not something you'd want to use on everything. As it is, I lose my focus on most of the things I do. Now with videogames, not the best idea; especially if you're playing several games at one time. So this is quick list of the games I have yet to finish and want to finish.

Dungeons and Dragons Anthology Master Collection

Oh Dungeons & Dragons, I missed how much time I wasted with you.
So this is the Dungeons and Dragons Anthology Master Collection. Seeing this in the local game shop, I had some slight reservations in getting it. I had copies of all the games here except for one but getting through the worlds they setup there had me buy this again. Also, my old CD copies are getting unreliable.

Rokko-Chan

I wonder if she has brother named Roll?
Inspired by one of the longest running game franchises, here is Rokko-chan. It's basically a Rockman or Megaman clone for the US market. I prefer to use Rockman as this was what I grew up with, us having family computers here in Asia.
Lookit those intense cute eyes... of death!
Anyways, everything is pretty much here. It has 8-bit tunes, 8-bit graphics, cute to bizarrely named robot masters, pellet shooters, mad scientist/doctor and yes, platforming goodness. All this is running on your internet browser, as long as you have flash enabled you are good to go. The controls are pretty tight and the keys can be re-mapped. I yet have to try a gamepad, it's on the FAQ but in Japanese.

So here are the links

Video games and time...

My taste for video games have mostly changed now... I've been much of an RPG gamer before but due to the demands of life in general I have enjoying more basic games like platform games and arcade games. Anyhow, enough of the blabber. Lately I've been enjoy some excellent retro (16-bit) games on my laptop. I'll try to put them up here in their own entry when I can and some review of sorts.

PS: Also, got me a new controller (as seen above) and I'm loving it.

Comic Cons of 2011

This is somewhat a long over due post from the last Comic Conventions. Thing with me with conventions, I tend to shy away from asking people/cosplayers to pose for me. Anyhow, I'll just dump a couple of decent pics and my swag.

My Wishlist 2010 - Updated

Well, this would b a quick and dirty wishlist... I'll fix this more later.

Now that I have time, I updated and cleaned up this blog post. This will be my wishlist for the end of the year. It doesn't have to be for Christmas only. Here it is.

Minor items that I'd love to get but not my priority.
  • Wallet doesn't have to be leather, just any with lots of pockets.

  • Super Mario Bros. Figure - I really want a King Koopa one but the PVC line I've been collecting from doesn't have a decent looking one.
  • Cellphone case - one of those leather/plastic case that flips open.. for my HTC Wildfire

  • Ghostbusters logo sticker - wanted nice sticker I can post on my laptop so that my geek cred goes up 10 points!
Major items, things that are on the expensive side and things I'm planning to get somewhere in the future.
  • Mp3 player - 4Gigs memory storage or expandable & standard audio jack. :)
  • Camera - a simple point and shoot camera with a good macro lens.

  • Ghostbusters: Egon Spengler or Winston Zeddemore- from the Matty Collector's line.
Note to self: Need more practice on blogging and/or change to a different blogsite...

More Terry Pratchett media! I'm still enjoying the Discworld books, wish I knew about this earlier in my college days. It could have easily warped my head further. Lol.

Nanashi No Game 2

Woah, they are making a squeal! Too bad, I still don't know that much Japanese.

Nanashi No Game

What do you get when you mix Square Enix and J-Horror? You get this! Nanshi No Game (The Game with No Name). This is one of the reasons why I study Japanese, they have the most kick ass games.

Plot as per Wikipedia:
Rumors have been circulating about a cursed role-playing game; anyone who plays it dies seven days after starting if they have not completed it by then.
