Testing, trials, prodding, ponderings

Damn. So many projects I want to go on but have to learn how to prioritize things. However, one thing is for certain, freelancing/working from home is a priority.

With that, I found myself setting up the game room as my new base of operation. Currently I'm writing a blog entry to not only clear my head but to hit on a couple things like doodling, writing, and getting a feel of I how it would be to work from home.

Drawing from the beginnings?

So, I'm trying to get back into drawing again as one of the skills I want to grow for this year at the least. My old Wacom Graphire isn't playing nice with the Windows 7 and up, so I decided to get an Intuos Art. So far, pretty satisfied with it. 😏

Nintendo Direct 2016

Been a bit busy for the past month thus the lack of  posts; I still have a couple post ideas on pending, so expect more to come. Anyways, this post would be just my thoughts on the most recent Nintendo Direct of 2016.

Focus, focus, focus...

Must play them all!!
Multitasking is a nice skill and all but its not something you'd want to use on everything. As it is, I lose my focus on most of the things I do. Now with videogames, not the best idea; especially if you're playing several games at one time. So this is quick list of the games I have yet to finish and want to finish.

Rehaul

Alaka... PROCRASTINATION!!!
So, I'm back and saying "I really should fix my blog." *doh* I do really want to setup a proper (updated) blog but I always lose steam mid way.  So the things to consider for this are:
  • Blog Engine
  • Redesign
  • Links overhaul
  • Specialization / Focus on particular theme
PS: Funny how I can rush out a post just before I go to work..

Bye 2011

Another year past. 2011, you have been most interesting to say the least. The crazy events ranging from natural disasters, revolutions, parties, new friends and old. I am quite thankful for the blessings I received but wish I could done more. I wasn't able to really much act on my 2011 New Year's Resolution, mostly half baked attempts but still I got to learn from them. Hit the jump for more personal ramblings.

Haitus... more of laziness

Well, I'm back. Sorta. Lately there has been a lot of happenings for me in the real world and I am much happy for it of course. So with that, I'll try to catch up and post more about them here. So roughly, I got a new phone, game cartridge, some swag and toys. Oh yeah, I also have to post my Christmas wish list and a New year's resolution.

Video games and time...

My taste for video games have mostly changed now... I've been much of an RPG gamer before but due to the demands of life in general I have enjoying more basic games like platform games and arcade games. Anyhow, enough of the blabber. Lately I've been enjoy some excellent retro (16-bit) games on my laptop. I'll try to put them up here in their own entry when I can and some review of sorts.

PS: Also, got me a new controller (as seen above) and I'm loving it.

A quick blog and a 2011 to do list

Well, I'm back in my little corner of the internet, trying my hand in blogging again. On several occasions I want to start back up on regular blogging but looking on my old entries its pretty much scattered. There are a lot stuff I want to share but my inert laziness is always kicking my butt. Anyways, here are a couple things I want to work on this year.
  • How to drive a car - a long overdue skill I have to pick up, I just dread the expenses and local traffic enforcers.
  • Blogging - well, here I am trying just that.
  • Learning Japanese - self study is cheaper but again, the lazy bum in me is taking over.
  • Invest in money generating assets - this is a very general thing but the thing is to get more worth out of the money I spend.
So there... meh...

Magic Slate

Got this cheap-o Magic Slate thing for my Kana practices. At least this will cut my paper consumption for a while. The name of the thing seems to be a bit off, oh well...

Success Log?

I actually had a blog before dedicated to keep track of my learning of the Japanese language (Bakemono Daily) but it served mostly as a bother to update weekly. So I let the damn thing sleep for around 6 months or so. Now, I'm sort of reviving it and building it up as some sort of Success Log. It seems to be a good nifty idea, just to see how much one have actually done. The plan is to just post stuff I've accomplished lately; nothing too fancy just a simple entry. Notice the RSS feed on the far right corner of the page. That's where the updates will fall. Well, that's that for now.

Back from my super hiatus.

I'M BACK!!!!

Well, I'm back from my unholy hiatus; not that I'm planning to blog often again but I'm doing this just for kicks. A lot happened since my last post but I won't be going to those. Just want to post that, I finally got my Nihonggo classes going. :D

Here are my current favorite sites to visit for my learning and references.
Note: Bought Wario there quite cheaply, now if I can get a decent looking King Koopa. If ever, I might even go into collecting the whole koopa crew.

Out all day.

Yesterday I was pretty much out all day after my graveyard shift at work. I went home to take an hour's worth of nap and off to Ortigas and then Makati.

Yesterday's hit list:

  • Contact lens

  • COE and BIR forms from previous work

  • Saizen goodies I still need more though.

  • Globe Tattoo

  • Monitor to TV converter price

  • Weighing Scale Going to opt out for now

I was suppose to buy a box of disposable contact lenses but didn't push with it. The nice optician advised me that if wanted to get an accurate reading for a new grade for my contacts, I should had some decent sleep or else the grade would be way off. They tried it still though, my 400+ eye grade to 500+. Haha.

As for claiming my "Free" Globe Tattoo wireless thingy, they apparently need me to photocopy of the receipt and my valid ID, and then cut off the bar code from my laptop's box. Geez, beginning to be a pain... urgh...

All in all, I got almost everything I needed from yesterday. Got stuff to do for today as well. I hope to be productive still.

The fuel for learning... sorta

Just got home around 12:40pm and just finished lunch, quite tired but that's okay. I spent my morning (after my shift) in the Japanese library photocopying a book for basic Kanji. The thing cost me around P230, but still a bargain I'd say. Now I just need to check for any missing pages and have them bound into book form.

Edumikashun....

Well, I'm somewhat happy with my progress in learning Nihongo, considering I just started again around mid-June. Found some great tips on from an e-book on how to easily learn any foreign language. So far it helps.

Everyday I try to learn something new, be it memorizing the writing, finishing an audio lesson or just practice. I'm considering to make something like an online journal of how I've been doing on my studies, it should be a daily thing. Probably I'll create a new blog for that. Well, that's all for now.

Note to self: Should install Adobe Flash and my drawing tablet to make those quick doodles and not end up snatching pics off the net.

RIP Mrs Priscilla Lily Pozon

My grandmother just passed away at a ripe age of 93 yrs old. Bless her soul.

She was our teacher, guardian, parent, disciplinarian, defender and more; more than I can ever put into words. She went over and beyond what a normal grandmother would do. She has done so much for us and our family. She was the best grandmother anyone can ask for.

Rest in peace, Lola Lily.

Haitus still

Wow, it's been a while since I updated here. Well, there has been a lot of little changes here and there. Mostly the important stuff is, I got myself a laptop & my self-taught Nihongo lessons is still on pause.

Well, that's it for now. I'm currently on eve 4 of my 7 eves of grave digging. I'm slowly getting sick, wheee...

Mobile Envy

A couple weeks back I started using my trusty old SE P990i to a fuller extent. I've been loading it up with MP3s and even converted some vids off the net for it to play with. Overall I was happy.

Then my office mate came along with his brand spanking new Nokia 5800. Just a break down, it has 80mb internal memory, memory card support, Bluetooth, WLAN, Symbian OS and touch screen. (More features here.) From what I saw so far, I want one! Hehe.

I've been kind of holding back going back to Nokia due to the lack of stylus/touchscreen products. I generally like Nokia phones due to its user friendliness but annoying how they come up with the occasional screw overs on physical designs, take Nokia 3650 as an example.

Well, with all that I still have some other priorities over a new phone but this seems to be good replacement for my old phone.
